[Enjoy the weekly complaints of a new arrival, Johto. Today delivered in the slightly scratchy tones of an annoyed teenager who's used to having an audience on demand. The situation is not being helped by the Goomy sticking itself to Chazz's shoulder, gently gumming at his hair.]

I've never heard of a Pokemon, and I don't care! Sounds like a lame Duel Monsters knockoff. You wanna challenge me or something, just come out and say it like a man!

[He folds his arms, scowling into the Pokégear for a second before gesturing at the Goomy.]

And how the hell is this thing a dragon?!

I haven't the faintest idea what this Duel Monsters thing is, but if you're expecting someone to appear and admit to bringing you here, you're going to be rather disappointed.

[Don't mind Dio. He's just going to act calm and collected and like he wasn't in Chazz's shoes just a few months ago.]

Seriously? You must really be from out in the boonies if you've never heard of Duel Monsters. What, you been living in a cave for the past twenty years or so?

[He's been drafted into some kind of monster mob where people won't even appreciate his trading card skills for what they are. This is Hell, isn't it.]

I would hardly consider London to be the boonies. It's far more likely that this Duel Monsters thing simply hasn't been invented yet.

[But enough about him being from the past, he'll just continue, and decide to be sarcastic. Because no one accuses him of being from some backwater place.]

And while I'm sure that whatever brought anyone here is simply petrified by your terrifying demeanor, you may want to keep your...creature around, just in case it does make an appearance. After all, it's what you'll be expected to face it with.

Uh, PRETTY SURE it's been "invented" for a while now. Not like I'm going to the top-ranked school in the world for it or anything.

If you're going to school for such a thing, then I would image you must certainly know that there are often more to these things than meets the eye.

[Or Dio could be completely wrong here. He's trying to work out exactly what Duel Monsters is and why anyone would go to school for it.]

And even if there's not, unpleasant as it may be, you'll be stuck with it until you find something better. This world does revolve around the things after all, whether we like them or not seems to be of no consequence.

Hardly. It's something you pick up rather quickly. Even something that would've been labeled as a pest back home seems to have some use here.

If this place revolves around pests like these, it really is a dump.

Like what, you're supposed to just rely on this trash until it magically gets better through the power of friendship or something? I'm not gonna do something that lame if I can just go out and find something better.

There are some that require those things, but thankfully most of them seem to grow merely by making them fight one another.

[Because there's just no chance of any sort of happiness or friendship evolution with this guy at all.]

[Not unless there are Pokémon with some seriously atypical standards of friendship.]

[It's better than the alternative, but he can't exactly admit that at this point.]

...So what's stopping someone from just making their own little freaks fight each other to get better?

And as far as I know? Not much.

[He admittedly considered making his Golbat and Noibat fight to the...well, not death, but certainly fight to keep a place on his team before deciding having two horrifying bat monsters was better than just one. So he can entirely understand where Chazz is coming from here.]

Though I find it much more worthwhile to direct them at others instead. After all, competition is much more exciting when you also have an opponent to contend with.

[...actually, he just likes destroying NPC trainers.]

[Okay, he can see the appeal of stomping all over NPCs.]

I suppose I'll have to show these losers who's boss sooner or later anyway.

[He feels like he JUST got done with this.]

[So long as he doesn't try to show him, Dio, who's boss, Dio's completely fine with that attitude.]
